Flowers of Salt

My aunt and cousin recently arrived from France, and this is one of the things they brought us: Fleur de Sel De Camargue French Sea Salt. Isn’t it lovely? The container is sealed with a cork, like fine wine, and “signed” on top by the Maitre Salier (Master Salter) who picked these salt flowers on the surface of brine fields in France.
We’ve yet to try it (waiting for our Maldon to run out), but I’m already swooning from all the possibilities. Just think: grilled steaks. A juicy tomato salad. A single soft-boiled egg. All sprinkled with Fleur de Sel. Mmm.
